is it normal to wash your hands for like 5 mins after masturbating? I don;t know why, but i seem to scared of semen. Whenever I masturbate, I have to wash my hands for so long before i think they are clean. I keep assaulting them with soap, cleaning out every fingernail, cuticle, everything. i do this at least 3 times. Then I wash the sink twice. I even wash the faucet and the soap dispenser at least twice. Im pretty sure this is not normal, but I%26#039;m just scared some will be left over on my hands and could possible touch something. The t.v. in the bedroom is turned on at night.

I drift off into sleepy land with it on.

The t.v. in the living room is on in the morning so I can have my coffee and see what the rest of the world has been up to.

This is more for guys because we well, take leaks differently. But as far as I go, if the restroom is empty, I%26#039;ll just take a quick piss at the urinal and then head out. If there are others around, I%26#039;ll quickly wash my hands so as not to seem dirty.

And before everyone goes %26quot;eww you don%26#039;t wash your hands?%26quot; I firmly believe that my urine excretion device is much cleaner than the handles on the faucets, the paper towel dispensers or air hand dryers, and the door. So I would probably be getting more germs on my hands after washing. Unless of course the restroom has the motion detecting sinks/dryers.

Of course, I only do this when I%26#039;m in a hurry at school or at work. I HAVE to wash my hands before I eat any meals to be able to enjoy them, especially out in public (sometimes if I make something small and easy at home that only requires a utensil to eat, I%26#039;ll skip it). I remember only one specific time I forgot to wash my hands. Here%26#039;s the story: After doing my business at an airport, I felt my back pocket and my wallet was gone! I panicked because I was in a different city and didn%26#039;t know what to do. I looked back where I was, and it had fallen on the floor. I quickly grabbed it and was so relieved I forgot to wash my hands. When i worked in the hospital, we had those handles you can operate with your arms, but you do not have those at home normally. I love Clorox wipes for this reason. Or Lysol wipes.....whatever. Your hands become coated with powder and bullet residues after firing. There are toxic chemicals in the residue. It would be bad to rub such chemicals into the eyes, nose, mouth and etc.

Same is true of the lubricants and cleaning solutions used on firearms. As a person recovering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (particularly with hygiene rituals), I wonder how often it is OK for me to wash my hands while still being in the %26quot;normal%26quot; range. Here is my guess for appropriate circumstances, if anyone has suggestions, especially for the last instance:

1) before eating/handling food

2) after using the restroom

3) whenever hands are tangibly dirty (as in, have food/dirt on them, etc)

4) MISC - after working with raw meat/eggs, petting an animal, dusting your house, etc

5) When returning from a public place where you had to touch a lot of communal items (e.g. handrails, library books . .. )

Please give me your opinion, especially on situations similar to 4 and 5.|||Once you have to think twice about putting your hand anywhere sensitive on your body then wash it: if it%26#039;s not clean enough to rub your eye or put in your mouth or touch your privates then wash it. In my opinion this is the only time it becomes necessary. Otherwise use Purell hand sanitizer anytime you receive documents from others or shake hands or enter or exit a public domain.|||Perfect!!

I think it is appropriate to wash your hands in all the cases you have mentioned above. You don%26#039;t want to over-do it by repeating it without being necessary. An easy example would be - you just washed your hands after visiting the bathroom. You went into you living room and then decided that it%26#039;s time to go to kitchen and cook. There is obviously no need to wash your hands now. also, you don%26#039;t want to be overly concious about it. For example, if you just petted your neighbor%26#039;s cute and healthy-looking cat on your way to work. I have always thought it was to help from the sink from overflowing. But that is a good question.|||That hole is for excess water drainage. So that if you run the water in the sink with the bottom hole closed, and it gets up to that hole on the side, it can start draining some of the water back down the drain through that hole.

If the main drain should become clogged, or if someone should accidentally walk away and leave the water running, that safety gap will keep the house from flooding.

I never wash my hands after a wee, urine is not only sterile, it is a mild antiseptic, during war times it is quite common to urinate on a comrades wound to clean it if there is no clean water around.

It seems a pointless exercise, you place your dirty hands on the tap to turn it on and then after washing your hands you place your clean hands back on the tap, that has the germs from your hands before you washed then, to turn it off . Surely some of those germs are then back on your hands?|||You are quite right Rody in all your points.

This has always been given serious consideration in places where germs can be a deadly affair eg. in a surgical operating theatre.

There the taps are replaced by those having long arms and the elbow is used to open and close them..

This system is now getting popular in public water basins but probably not fast enough.

To push your argument further I personally think we should try to find a system where public toilet doors should not be opened or closed or locked with the hands.
