Is it bad to wash Your hands a lot?

I constantly wash my hands at work, because of stuff getting on my hands and they get red. How can I prevent this and what is the best lotion to use?|||I understand your concern. This happens to me. Avoid unnecesary washing. A good example is, wash your hands once you get home from work, and then try to only wash them after that if you%26#039;re using the restroom or preparing food. At work, dry your hands VERY well and keep lotion in your pocket. Really any kind of lotion will work fine, I would recomment unscented so you%26#039;re not stinkin up your workplace LOL|||Washing your hands when you don%26#039;t need to (especially with antibacterial soap) increases your likelihood of being exposed to an antibiotic resistant form of bacteria. The truth is, we just aren%26#039;t supposed to be that clean, don%26#039;t get me wrong if there is a specific reason to watch fine, but over washing has actually been linked to a multitude of conditions.|||I have the same problem...you can get a cream called %26quot;hemp%26quot; from the Body Shop. That is pretty good! it is bad for your skin to wash your hands all the time and i am sure that your work place doesn%26#039;t buy the most expensive liquid hand soap so that makes it worse. It is a good idea to wash your hands often to avoid getting sick.|||its not bad to wash your hands a lot, but you shouldn%26#039;t do it too much, like 30 times a day. My hands get really dry and hurt a lot when I don%26#039;t moisturize them, so I use Lubriderm. It really moisturizes well and doesn%26#039;t leave your hands feelings sticky like regular lotions.|||I%26#039;ve seen stuff about OCD where people wash their hands and the chemicals in their soap effects their skin.

It might be a good idea to use only water, or to cut down on how many times a day that you wash up.

:)||| It%26#039;s probable an antibacterial soap, use regular soap. need a lotion with dimethicone in it or for extremely dry skin, aquafor, keri lotion. Can%26#039;t you wear gloves?|||Well theirs nothing wrong with it long as your not obsessed with germs try not rubbing you hands as hard just wash lightly use detol perhaps that is good|||Have you tried Avon products, they have a variety of barrier creams. Or try the supermarket...what is the stuff you are washing off your hands?|||Neutrogena is great|||just keep moisturizing. the soap you%26#039;re using is probably drying out your hands.
